Implant Retained Overdentures

Implants are among one of the greatest improvements in dentistry in recent years and can greatly increase denture performance.

With over 20 years experience, I am familiar with most systems in the field of implantology, removable-bar restorations or click-mechanism restorations – Ball attachment, Bar-Retained and Locator system.

All systems can be easily placed and removed for better oral hygiene.

If your patient is atypical, due to anatomical limitations or they desire for maximum retention and function, they may choose to have the implants placed by a dentist or specialist (yourself).

Your patient can visit us without a referral, and we can provide the prosthetic side of their treatment – a diagnostic work-up (templates, guides), photographic proofs, the denture framework design etc, so that your patient undergoes a successful, functional and aesthetic treatment. I am a qualified dental prosthetist and licensed to provide this service.

Complete Denture Prosthetics

Not all dentures are the same!

Our complete dentures are made up of the most durable materials and natural-looking teeth. Because every patient is different, the process of creating such dentures involves various impression techniques and advanced clinical and technical precision.

To achieve this, we use:
Preliminary and final impressions with muscle moulding for a more functional fit
Gothic arch pin tracing for accurate jaw relation recordings
A facebow record for more precise orientation on the articulator
A fully adjustable articulator for teeth setting in the laboratory
Precision placement of teeth with allowances for functional movements with minimal cuspal interference between the dentures while maintaining adequate contacts for masticating
Premium acrylic and processing methods (IvoBase injection)

This is a high-performance denture using the most proven methods and materials.

Removable Partial Dentures

With 35 years’ experience designing and casting RPDs, we are experts in creating removable partial dentures.

Our designs prevent rocking and movement of the RPD during function and we make them as unobtrusive and aesthetic as possible for a comfortable fit for the patient with minimum tissue irritation. We cast on site in cobalt chrome, titanium (hypoallergenic) or gold.

Our RPDs are designed to minimise pressure and torque on the remaining anchor teeth and their supporting periodontal structures.

Occlusal Splint

Occlusal splints, also referred to as occlusal guards or bite splints, are therapeutic dental devices specifically designed to manage occlusal-related concerns.

Balance Dental are able to provide occlusal splints as an integral part of conservative management for conditions affecting the occlusal relationship, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) function, and associated musculature.

Our occlusal splints are custom-crafted orthotic appliances, which have been meticulously tailored to an individual’s dental anatomy and functional dynamics.

Denture Repairs / Relines / Rebases

We can help repair dentures, reuniting fractured components of the denture, reinstating the integrity of the denture base, and reattaching any compromised denture teeth.

Through an impression process, we can create a new tissue-bearing surface fashioned on the denture base, congruent with the current oral contours. Our reline procedure aims to enhance the seal between the denture and the oral tissues, thereby augmenting retention and minimising irritations.

Our rebase process involves the removal of the previous base, followed by an impression procedure to capture the updated oral anatomy.

A denture base is subsequently fabricated, using resilient materials that integrate harmoniously with the existing denture teeth. The outcome is a revitalised prosthesis that aligns accurately with the oral contours, thereby optimising stability and function.

Laser Welding Services / Metal Additions / Partial Denture Additions

Laser welding services encompass a precision-based dental procedure involving the use of advanced laser technology to fuse or repair metallic components of dental prostheses.

We can help with metal additions, incorporating supplementary metallic segments into existing dental prosthetics. This technique can address various clinical scenarios, such as enhancing prosthetic stability, augmenting retention, or accommodating changes in the oral environment.

Our partial denture additions service addresses changes in the dentition or oral anatomy, while preserving the functionality of the prosthetic appliance.
Revolutionised Denture Fabrication

IvoBase Injection Unit

To process the appliances we use the fully automatic IvoBase denture injection system. With this precision polymerisation system, results are exceptional. The system is based on a highly effective combination where the material is matched to the polymerisation unit and vice versa.

This system ensures that the chemical shrinkage of the resin is compensated by the flow of additional material in a fully automated injection moulding process. The high-quality, auto-curing polymer material is characterised by excellent accuracy of fit and extremely low residual monomer content.

The benefits at a glance:
High fracture toughness due to the high impact characteristics of the IvoBase acrylic
Excellent fit due to its dimensional stability and surface finish
Safe for the patient due to the low residual monomer content
Optimum solution for a range of patients
